What do you get when you combine beautiful yoga girls, music, comedy and a great script? – “Life’s an Itch”
When Roger Wright’s family leaves him at home to work while they go to Hawaii, the last thing Roger needed was his wife’s 21 year-old Yoga teacher staying in the guest-house. The big break our hero had always wanted falls in his lap, but can he really get his musical work done in just 7 days with the distractions of a yogi running around the property? Things only get more trying when his best friend, the womanizing agent, Santiago, catches wind of Roger’s attractive young guest and the yoga party. Add blood pressure at 180, four more yogis, and a nosey neighbor, will our hero live through the events of the week. Yoga party?
Ali Cobrin (from American Reunion) and newcomer, Rossi Morreale, star and bring this quirky comedy to its comedic feet. Andrea Bogart from General Hospital plays the wife and mother with heart and soul. Academy Award nominated Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13) nails the “had it up to here” mother-in law. Lin Shaye (There’s Something About Mary) is as funny as can be playing the eccentric and nosey neighbor, walking her pet fish and imbibing at all hours of the day. Act of Valor bad guy Alex Veadov plays a Frenchman of questionable motives while young comedians Walter Harris and Ryan Meharry establish themselves as on screen performers who are here to stay.
Written and directed by Kevin A. Kent, the movie is also produced by Kent, Rossi Morreale and Joel Mills. This is a fast-paced comedy that asks the most pressing of questions: Can a man discover his chakras and still keep his pants on?
Ali Cobrin as Gillian Gracin
Gillian is a funny talented yogini kind of a girl who dances, chants and walks through life as if nothing could ever affect her. Not until she has to deal with the stress cadet that is Roger Wright. Thank our lucky stars that we have Ali Cobrin to play this whacky part. Ali is beautful, vivacious, funny as can be and was busy plucking bad aura spikes off of Roger's head during the audtion. Ali can be seen prior to our movie in the upcoming installment of American Pie called American Re-Union. It was Director, Jon Hurwitz that convinced us she was one in a million. We believe. We are so looking forward to getting back to shooting in January. Go ahead, LIKE her on Facebook. You know you want to.
Rossi Morreale as Roger
Roger, a young husband and father of two, has reached the point when he questions his life, love, creativity, career, and very well-being. The enchanting Gillian, an open-minded yoga instructor with a body from heaven appears on his doorstep to stay in the guest house, at his wife's request. Each day the sexy circumstances that our hero finds himself in would question even the most devout husband's loyalty, but Roger faces an even bigger life challenge throughout the week....Will Roger cheat life or cheat love?
Andrea Bogart as Jen Wright (Roger's Wife)
From her first audition, Andrea has brought a tear to the entire crew’s eye. Andrea is such a strong actor she makes it easy on the rest of us. Her scenes let her show a range of acting that is amazing to see. When she’s in a scene with her family, you can see all and affection she has for her husband, her kids and even her mother. When we did our goodbye scenes together, she made me feel all the love of a husband and that I genuinely needed to get my act together to make her happy. At the end when she catches Roger and Gillian in a compromising situation, she made Jillian and I feel so bad, it was like we had really ruined her life. I’m pretty sure everyone that witnessed that scene, called their loved one immediately after and apologized for something! She’s so intense and emotional and funny at the same time, she makes everyone around her better.
Kathleen Quinlan as Audrey (Roger’s Mother-In-Law)
It was such an honor to work opposite Kathleen. She is so sweet and such a professional, I truly was trying to get her respect not only in the movie but also on set. It’s so great to see an actress of her caliber do what she does. There were moments when she would throw out ideas and give suggestions that would make the scene 10 times better than it was originally and then she would just deliver consistently! A few moments we asked her to adlib and mix it up a little and she was brilliant every time!
Lin Shaye – Gloria, the nosey neighbor
Lin is such an iconic and incredible actress. She stepped in at the last second for Lupe Ontiveros. She said no dog gags as written, but from the second she suggested a "fish" we swam delightfully. She is so creative and fun on set, she lifted everyone with her. We were happy to have her on set and elated with the performances.
Dartanian Sloan as Alex Wright (Roger's 7 yr old son)
This kid is a STAR in the making. This little kid is funny, knows his lines, my lines, Andrea’s lines and Ireland’s. He is so professional but at the same time a perfect little kid. Fun and funny with a clever little edge that makes him even more adorable! There were a few times that he took the script and added a few things, at our suggestion, and the were right on point and very clever. The scent when he sticks his face in a birthday cake and then has a moment with his Granny (Kathleen), it’s one of the cutest, funniest moments in the movie. I think we were lucky to get him at this age, before he’s unaffordable!
Ireland Ervin as Sedona Wright (Roger’s 5 yr old daughter)
She’s one of the cutest, spunkiest little girls I’ve ever met. She is so cute it’s hard to take your eyes off of her. Doing the family scene’s were crazy, there was multiple actors doing multiple things and Ireland at 6 years old, stayed right in the mix. It was the first time I had ever worked with kids this age and I was very impressed with how Ireland handled herself and still performed during the scene’s.
Walter Harris as Santiago (Roger’s Agent)
Walter is Hysterical. He comes from a comedy background and it shows. He’s amazing at improv and can deliver in a instant with a change of scene or script. We basically just let him do his thing, because you can’t script comedy genius and that he is. He also looks REALLY good in a florescent orange Bikini swimsuit!
Ryan Meharry as Freddy
Can’t say enough about Ryan. He is patient and professional and when It’s time to deliver the Comedy…he’s as consistent as he is at delivering packages! He’s a big improv guy and it is so fun to work with him. All the scenes we had to together, we would just start riffing and the laughs just kept coming. We had to cut a few times, due to laughter coming from off set or me not keeping a straight face. Ryan is a funny man and has a big career in comedy ahead of him.
Alex Veadov as Jean Michele
Alex plays a Frenchman that is eclectic to say the least and very ambiguous. He plays this character perfectly. He is funny and has a very big personality that shines through the camera. In every scene he brings the laughs…the back and forth between him and Roger’s 7 year old son Alex…is a scene that just keeps bringing the laughs. When he goes into his character…it’s hard to keep a straight face.
Kirk Bovill as Dr. Meyer
While working with Kirk, we had to get very close very fast, with a cough test. Luckily Kirk could not have made it any more Uncomfortable!! He came into the scene and just made it so uncomfortable and awkward and hysterical I could not stop laughing. I literally had to walk away a few times, because Kirk was perfectly a creepy German doctor. Although he did have one stick of chewing gum for me when I left…that he pulled out of his pocket.
The Yoga Ladies
DeLane Mathews as Gladys
Delane is just flat out Hysterical. She came is as a Yoga girl and stole the show as a woman who dresses for a yoga class from the 80’s and not only shouldn’t be in an advanced yoga class…she’s a danger to others. So fun to work with and extremely funny…she steals the show whenever she’s around.
Jesse Golden as Marilyn
Jesse is the most unbelievable yogini I’ve ever seen. She is so flexible and strong and beautiful, she’s the perfect example of the female body. She is very sweet and quiet, but is absolutely captivating when she starts moving. She came on late and she was a perfect addition.
Irina Voronina – Oksana
Irina is Gorgeous and Sexy and when you throw that Russian accent in…it’s hard to concentrate when she’s around. She was great at the Yoga and Incredible in the Hot Tub! Everytime she’s did a scene she was funny and you never know what’s gonna come out of her mouth.
Catherine Shu - Mei Li
Stunning, gorgeous, amazing yogini. She’s another girl that could do things with her body that are mind blowing. She was very professional and very strong at Yoga. She was an absolute pleasure to work with.
